This is only my second entry to this wonderful weekly photography meme, the first having been posted at my main blog. Wow, I just checked out that post and it was more than two months ago already!
Anyhoo, I was able to take a couple of shots of signages, but I’m not sure if they are old. Haha. This is the best I could do though
All photos were taken last week, August 31, before/during/after our family lunch. Food photos for that luncheon were previously posted here as well.
First up (and the featured photo for this post because it’s the only one that’s horizontally-oriented), is the Dampa sign. Dampa isn’t the restaurant itself. It is a section in the Farmer’s Market where you can buy cooked food. But people go there because you can tell them what particular sea creatures you’d like to purchase from the market, how much, and then tell them how you want it cooked.
I have no idea how long Dampa has been there, but I do know that there are other places around Metro Manila called Dampa but this is the only one I’ve been to. And I already want to go back!
There are several stalls there but this was the one we picked:
They have awesome service! The waitress was totally paying attention to us, even when more people have already come for lunch. She was there to replace the bowl where you put all the shrimp and crab parts that you can’t eat. She was there to refill our pitcher of Coke with cold water. And she was very generous with her smile
Oh, I don’t think that’s her on the photo though.
Finally, here’s a sign I took specifically for this week’s You Capture theme. It is right outside our home, on an electric post.
You will find many similar signs all over the Philippines. Tubero isn’t Filipino for House Painter. A tubero is a plumber. So this is Tom’s sign advertising his plumbing and house painting services.
Nope, I have no idea who Tom is. And no, I have not tried calling him.

I really like the dampa image with the pipes and ceiling bars making all those groovy lines. Nice.

THank you! Naku, you made me think of the carinderias around the streets of Quiapo and Binondo. Sana magkalakas ng loob akong mag photoshoot dun. Hehe
